Just loved this place - very beautiful modern Tuscan food and don't forget to ask a table in the cellar which is very atmospheric! Lovely restaurant where you can eat in caves underground. The food is really really good, if a bit pricey. But you will find typical Tuscan dishes with a bit of modern flair. Italian food and dining taken up five notches. Just when I thought every restaurant in Italy was the same, with more or less the same menu, I stumble upon Divo.
A must-visit lunch spot on any foodie tour of Siena, Gino Cacino di Angelo has one of the finest selections of meat and cheese available in the city. The staff here speak excellent English and are always willing to recommend dishes to foreign visitors. Choose a sandwich filled with roast pork or chicken, or pick a selection of cured meats and Italian cheeses to share between two alongside a bottle of Italian red wine. Any of the cheeses and meats can also be vacuum-packed to take away too. The rock and brick inner walls create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere in which diners can enjoy delicious Tuscan flavors cooked expertly by highly skilled chefs. The dishes on offer change with the seasons, which enables the chef to be creative with locally available produce. Roasted rack of lamb, rolled pork fillet, tagliata of red tuna and courgette risotto are just four of the delicious dishes that featured on the summer menu earlier this year.

This Tuscan hill town will transport you back to the Middle Ages. Siena's grand cathedral, built in the s, has treasured artworks and marvelous marble floors. It's also home to the Palio, perhaps the most infamous horserace in the world. No goofy hats and mint juleps here—this is a medieval tradition involving bareback riders racing on cobblestones so as you might imagine, it's quite dangerous. Siena is an easy daytrip by train from Florence, just 43 miles away.
Osteria le Logge and Antica Osteria da Divo are both endorsed by professionals. Stars of a regularly rotated menu include taglierini al tartufo in a light butter sauce that doesn't mask the delicate flavor of the black truffles. Fulfill a craving for a famous house specialty, malfatti all'osteria, ricotta and spinach dumplings in a cream sauce. This place changes its menu of creative Tuscan cuisine almost daily. It is no secret but it remains one of Siena's greats with a wonderful location right off the Campo, and a beautiful space inside an old pharmacy. All of the entrees are well paired with vegetables, often caramelized onions or crisp roasted potatoes with herbs, service is outstanding. The background jazz at this long-standing favourite is as smooth as the walls are rough-hewn.
The hall can host up to 40 seats. Photo Going down there is the first room of the Etruscan period. Photo Going down again we are faced with two niches in ancient times there were niches where cinerary urns were placed particularly suitable for candlelit dinners. Photo Finally, the last room surrounded by the particular tufaceous vaults of the Etruscan period. A part of the menu is dedicated to truffles all year that allows us to enjoy our dishes to customers who love this product.

About our rating system. Many of the offerings are uniquely Sienese, as in pici alla lepre thick spaghetti in hare sauce , sella di cinghiale saddle of wild boar braised in Chianti , or a breast of guinea fowl faraona roasted with balsamic vinegar. Such meals are well paired with vegetables, often caramelized onions or crisp roasted potatoes with herbs. Service is outstanding, and as befits one of the most romantic meals in town, the intimate spaces are beautifully candlelit at night.
