The transformation of Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp has been a sight to behold for fans. Things were really going down the pan in Brendan Rodgers' final full season, with the club finishing sixth and only two points ahead of Southampton in seventh. Rodgers' worst moment as manager came during Steven Gerrard's final game for the club, with Liverpool losing away at Stoke. The less said about Mignolet's time on Merseyside, the better. Loris Karius even ousted him and now Alisson Becker is ready to take over. Can at right-back?

Stoke have never beaten Liverpool at Anfield in a top flight league match, and only briefly in the first half did this record look in any danger of being broken. Jonathan Walters had put Stoke ahead. After a period of pressure from the Potters, Walters got in front of his marker Dejan Lovren to head past Simon Mignolet. Lallana levelled the score in the 35th minute, thrashing his effort past 'keeper Lee Grant after the ball kindly rebounded to him in the box. Firmino's strike went in off the post and over the line after he had acres of time in the Potters' box. Imbula diverted in Divock Origi's cross on the hour for the third and then sub Sturridge rounded Grant in the 70th minute as the Potters capitulation was complete.

Live on. Stoke kept alive their slim hopes of Premier League survival with a draw at an unusually lacklustre Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime. Despite picking a strong side that included Mohamed Salah, Jurgen Klopp's men seemed to have one eye on their midweek Champions League trip to Roma as they mustered just two shots on target at Anfield. Klopp's men had averaged a goal every 39 minutes at home this season but could only really point to a glaring one-on-one miss from Salah and a disallowed Danny Ings strike as clear-cut chances. The result takes Stoke to within three points of safety, although Swansea - who host Chelsea in the late game on Saturday - have two games in hand. Stoke will only be able to reach a points total 36 that has - at best - guaranteed survival 50 per cent of the time over the past 10 Premier League seasons.

Mohamed Salah spurned the best chance of the match after just six minutes as Stoke held on to move within three points of safety. Liverpool, meanwhile, edge nine points clear of Chelsea in fifth place, but miss the chance to temporarily move up to second and take a big step towards sealing a top-four spot with two games to spare. However, despite the disappointment of seeing two points slip away against a relegation-bound side again, the Reds remain in control of their own fate in terms of the race for a top-four finish. Trent Alexander-Arnold , who started as a surprise midfield partner for Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson , saw his early shout for a penalty waved away after he stumbled under pressure from Moritz Bauer. Despite the Reds looking to grab the opening goal, the increasingly-deep Stoke defence held strong to keep out the visitors. Liverpool had to endure a late scare when Ryan Shawcross was inches away from poking in from close range at the other end, however the game ended in stalemate.
