Corpus Domini alla Garbatella is a mid 20th century convent church at Via delle Sette Chiese 91 in the suburb of Garbatella to the south of the city. This is in the Ostiense quarter. A picture of the church on Wikimedia Commons is here. The dedication is to Jesus Christ, bodily present in the Blessed Sacrament. After their definitive papal approval in , they established their headquarters here in Rome by erecting a large convent with a school. This is because Pope Pius XII expressed his wish that all papally approved congregations of religious should have their headquarters in the city.

Today, the city of Rome has more churches than any other city in the world, about to be precise. But not all churches are created equal. Some churches, the Papal Basilicas, have a special connection to the Pope, whilst others are ordinary parish churches. The whole circuit was long: more than 30km. Most of the churches were at least an hour on foot away from each other. The pilgrimage was popularized in the 16th-Century by Saint Filippo Neri but today has fallen out of use since much of the route now lies in urban areas on the outskirts of the city, cut through by dual carriageways and busy roads.
Beautiful place; run by a lovely family. Obviously very busy so service was slightly slower than we would want but nice homely feel. Food very good - rigatoni was lovely as was the cherry dessert. Would recommend. Great choice of vegan specialties with the name of traditional italian dishes!!!! For instance "Vegetarian Carbonara" really to try Very good sweets including special "Tiramisu".

Giro delle Sette Chiese
There are more than sixty catacombs in Rome, with more than hundred kilometres of galleries and thousands tombs. They were simply collective cemeteries, deep into the ground. Christians adopted the pre-existing excavation system and developed that on a large scale with galleries and overlapped levels. For their importance, the precious heritage of paintings and sculptures, the Catacombs are nowadays visited by thousands of Pilgrims from all over the world. They are authentic archives of the primitive Church , an attestation of the costumes and rituals of how the Christian doctrine was meant and applied. After having visited one of the Catacombs of Rome, lets continue our visit following the ancient Pilgrimage Way of Via delle Sette Chiese connecting the catacombs to St Paul outside the Walls Basilica.
