Our gang recently returned from a long weekend in Death Valley, Calif. We often visit DV in springtime, which is the best season to go. As avid motorcyclists and travelers, we have ridden all over the west together, and we have never taken a trip that was rated anything less then fabulous. From blasts to Monterrey, tours of the Pacific Northwest and peg-scraping rides through the Sierras, none fail to combine the beauty of the scenery with the love of being on two wheels like our jaunt to the other worldliness of Death Valley. DV is simply one jaw-dropping panorama after another. The geological diversity, loneliness, colors, and astounding beauty never fail to please and amaze. After many hours and hundreds of miles of great scenery, the pavement, for some reason, changes from black to brown and in the next instant, upon rounding the curve, the entire valley, until now unseen, lies at your feet.
As it's not out of question (yet) that Moto Guzzi may continue the current gen Stelvio it might be fun and constructive to see owner suggestions.

The factory aimed high on this model, with a 1, cc, plus horsepower V-twin driving the ride. They compounded the pressure by naming the thing after a stretch of road in the Stelvio Pass, Italian Alps, long used as a proving ground and known by driving enthusiasts around the world. A new adjustable windshield crowns a new fairing that is barely deserving of the name, and is really more of an over-sized housing for the side-by-side headlights and molded-in turn signals. Folks, that gives us quite a range for traveling in large-interval fuel-stop areas, and even turning to the off-road for far off the beaten path adventures. Inverted front forks buoy the front end, and the front fender comes with molded-in splash guards to protect the swept area of the inner fork tube from grit and damage. Saddle height is adjustable between 32 and 33 inches tall, and the saddle comes with a dramatic taper at the front for a slim waist and easy ground access when standing. A single analog clock displays the rpm, and an LCD screen displays the speed and other critical metrics for a fairly clean instrument cluster ahead of the rather flat handlebars.
