It was the second pairing of Hopkins and Pitt after their film Legends of the Fall. This was a great read, Patrick. Although I cannot comment on Meet Joe Black as I saw it once and only remember the car accident scene, much of what you wrote rings true to me. Your statement that we should let movies happen to us and we cannot argue with our responses to them is dead on. There are certainly films that I have responded to that most people would shrug at. I was really affected by Tusk of all movies in a way I would have never imagined. I don't like that film but I was almost in tears and never want to see it again.
